I have a friend who recently just became a personal trainer, and were were talking about how I wanted to tone up a bit and live a healthier lifestyle... Well since he was certified and is looking for a job, he wrote me up a workout that I've been trying for the past couple days.
Its two different workouts that are to be performed on alternating days for three days a week. For the days that that the workout is not being done, you can choose between cardio exercises or abdominal/core exercises. If you being on Monday with workout A, then Wednesday will be workout B, and then on Friday it will be workout A again. Repeat the workout for 3 set of 12 starting out light then challenging yourself with heavier weights as you get use to the workout.
Workout A consists of 3 sets of 12 of
- sumo squat
- pushup
- machine row
- dumbbell curl
- bench dips *hyperextension
- ab exercise of choice
Workout B consists of 3 sets of 12 of
- dumbbell lunge
- stiff leg deadlift
- dumbbell press
- lat pulldown
- tricep kickback
- hammer curl
- glute bridge
- ab exercise of choice
Here is the equipment I used for the bulk of the workout...
- the two pairs of dumbbells are 6 lbs. and 8 lbs.
- body bar was 8 lbs.
- bench
- floor mat
After I finished the workout, I decided to do a little more core work so I used the bosu ball
I did some alternating exercises on the bosu ball, but all focusing on core.
